Rooted Memories is a private, mobile-only family archive platform operated by ROOTED MEMORIES LTD.
The platform allows families to create private, invite-only family trees where members can upload, organise and preserve photos, names and family stories in a structured archive.
Rooted Memories is not a public social network. Content is not publicly discoverable or indexed.
To use Rooted Memories, you must create an account using a valid mobile number and any other information requested in the app.
You are responsible for keeping access to your account and device secure.
A sole administrator should transfer control before leaving or deleting their account.
Each tree has one or more administrators.
Administrators may invite or remove members, create and manage leaves, remove content within their tree, and manage the tree itself.
Administrative actions may be logged for security and governance purposes.
Leaves may be created by a tree administrator or standard user, and may initially be unassigned.
An unassigned leaf may later be claimed by the relevant person when invited to do so.
Once claimed, the identity owner gains control over their profile within the app.
Media uploaded to Rooted Memories remains the property of the user who uploaded it.
By uploading content, you grant ROOTED MEMORIES LTD the right to store, process, display and back up that content solely for the purpose of operating the platform.
Users may remove media they personally uploaded. Identity owners and tree administrators may also remove content where applicable within their tree.
At MVP, Rooted Memories is provided without in-app payments or subscriptions.
Any future paid plans, storage limits or premium features may be introduced later and will be subject to updated terms.
Users may request permanent account deletion at any time.
Account deletion is processed within seven (7) days.
Deleting an account removes account access and personal profile data from active systems, although some backup data may remain temporarily before automatic overwrite.
A tree may be deleted by an administrator.
Deleting a tree permanently removes the leaves, media and member associations stored within that tree.
Tree deletion is irreversible once completed.
ROOTED MEMORIES LTD reserves the right to suspend or remove access where these terms or applicable law are violated.
Rooted Memories is provided on an “as available” basis.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or error-free operation.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ROOTED MEMORIES LTD is not liable for loss of data resulting from user actions, disputes between family members, or indirect or consequential losses.
We may update these Terms from time to time.
Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms apply to all users of Rooted Memories during the MVP stage.
